GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT TILES AND TILE MURALS
We utilize an imaging process called "dy-sublimation" to produce durable, lasting, vibrant images within one or several tiles. They are not decals. The image is actually under the surface of the tile.
After you have selected your image and tile body, your image (s) are printed onto carrier paper using large format printers and sublimation dyes.
Our specially coated tiles are then positioned on top of these printouts, and placed in a specialized heat press. The heat press applies high pressure at 400 degrees F.
During the heat transfer process, the molecules of the sublimation dyes turn from a solid to a gaseous state and penetrates the surface of the tiles. When the tile cools, the dyes return to their solid state and are permanently impregnated into the tile.
GRID MAP FOR EASY INSTALLATION:
We make installation easy by providing our clients with an Installation Grid Map that follows a simple intuitive numbering system. On the back of each tile, the installer will find a number that represents the location of the tile within the mural. The installer refers to the Grid Map to find the tiles corresponding location within the mural. The tiles are positioned accordingly.
GLASS TILE INSTALLATION:
When installing Glass Tiles, you MUST use an epoxy adhesive, not a regular thin-set mortar. We recommend using either custom building products or Merkret Epoxy for tile installation. PLEASE CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS IN REGARDS TO THIS INSTALLATION.
Sand-free or silicone grout caulking should be used when installing Glossy, Satin Hard Coast and Textured Wall Tile bodies. Other types of grout may scratch the imaged surface during fixing.
Sanded grout can be used on the following tile bodies if needed: Tumbled Stone, Satin and Glazed Porcelain, 2" mosaic or VersaTile.
Tumbled stone murals should be sealed if used in any water application. When installing VeraTile on a countertop, it is recommended to use a sealer on the grout.
When cleaning your tiles, we recommend that you use any non-abrasive household cleaner. Gloss murals should be cleaned with glass or multi-purpose cleaner and a soft cloth.
Each tile is individually wrapped before packing. Tiles are packed and boxed carefully. On the back of each tile, the installer will find a number that represents the location of the tile within the mural.
